Man, Its December already. 2018 has come and gone already. Every time at the end of the year I like to do a self-evaluation. This most will be some things that I want to improve on not even for the upcoming year but for my life in general. Some of these I have already started. I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions but these will be lifestyle changes and goals that I plan on meeting.
So I really have 3 main nutritional goals that I have been working on. The first one is drinking more water. I went from drinking maybe a bottle a day to drinking about a half of gallon. My goal is to drink a full gallon of water every day. Another goal I have is to eat better. I have thought about doing Keto, but I’m not sure. I have also started cooking more. I love to cook I just really didn’t make the time to do so. I will be taking my weekends to meal prep and cook for the whole week. Lastly, I plan on being more active. I always get these spirts where I’m consistently going to the gym. Then I get lazy. I have a whole gym in my apartment complex so there is really no reason why I can’t go to the gym. I have also talked about some of my hair goals for the next 12 months in my growth challenge blog. I know that all of these things will push help me reach that goal as well.
Another thing that I want to work on is Self-Love. I don’t want you to think that I am going around hating the way that I look or anything, it’s deeper than that. I want to be able to see myself the way that God sees me and also I want to be the best me I can be. Sometimes we get so busy in the day to day that we forget about ourselves. I just want to do more things that align with my purpose so I’ll be writing a lot more as well as reading more books. These are things that I really enjoy doing that I really don’t get a change to do because I’ve felt too tired or too busy. Also, on a more personal level, I want to overall be a more positive thinker. I always think the worst situation out of the smallest things. There’s nothing wrong with seeing all of the possibilities but that anxiety of something always going wrong can keep me up at night and I don’t want that to happen. I’m reclaiming my time and my sleep in 2019. Lastly, I would love to find a Christian Therapist in my area. I am an advocate for therapy. Listen we go the doctor for check-ups on our bodies but we need to get check-ups on our minds too. You don’t have to have mental illness to see someone, that’s another misconception about therapy. Don’t worry I will be doing a whole blog post on this soon. Stay tuned.
I saved the best and most important one for me for last. I really feel like I can improve on these other things unless I improve my spiritual walk and discipline. I plan to stay in my word, as well as increasing my prayer life. I plan to continue to grow in my walk and share my testimony with others. I really have been working on this since about October, there’s always deeper that you can go. I really believe that by started with these things its will help keep me on track for the other goals I have.
If this had gotten your wheels turning about some things that you want to start working on going into this new year, I recommend you start today!! There’s no need in a new year’s resolution anyway. People don’t keep them. For example, you will start out in January saying that you want to go to the gym. The gym will be packed to capacity for the month of January, then a ghost town in February. Don’t be that person. Set some obtainable goals and let’s get to work!!! I love ya’ll see you all in my next post!
